Category: Let's talk
Hi.
As the title says, does anyone use Google Talk (the instant messaging service provided by google)? The latest version of KeySoft (the software that runs on the braillenote from humanware) has an instant messaging client, but it only supports XMPP based services like google talk. So if anyone has google talk and wants to chat, please either reply to this thread or send me a message. Please note that I cannot post my google talk information publicly because it is my gmail address and I don't want certain users and search engines getting hold of it; I will send it if requested in this thread or by private communication (as long as I approve of you having the information; there are a few users on here who I do not want getting hold of it).
Thanks. PS. I'm not sure if this is in the right board; feel free to move it if it isn't.
I used to use it, but it distorted my sound card as soon as I began talking, and it slowed my computer down to the point of needing to be reformatted. Maybe it was something else, but after reformatting, I installed everything I had except Google Talk, and it was fine. If you have any suggestions or comments about that, please let me know somehow, and I would be happy to try it again.
BTW, I think this is in the right board.
I love Google Talk! I use Keysoft verson 8.
i don't have a brailenote so i use it with my laptop with jaws and is somewhat acessible
Wow, have not used it in about a month or so.
But it is a nice program.
How does it compare to Skype?
I use it too. If anyone wants to add me, my E-mail is:
berryreddish@gmail.com
but how can you make it accessible with jaws?
I believe there is a google talk client available, though I believe you need scripts for it. A lot of people I know who use google talk use programs like miranda instant messenger which supports google talk. Try http://muztech.podzone.org as ya may be able to get some scripts and stuff from there.
I personally like Skype better, but hey...it's another client out there to use, so why not?
I wish I could use skype, but my BrailleNote won't let me install it. :(
